After last weeks 7-2 defeat at Boston it was hoped that we had learned to concentrate for the whole 90 minutes and not switch off after 70. Unfortunately this was not the case and we sank to a 4-0 defeat against a high flying Harrogate CSC team who had hammered us by eight goals in the away game. The score was not really representative of the game and the attitude of one or two of the opposition players could only be explained by the fact that Bardseys young team averaging 18 years old played excellently for the first 70 minutes. Indeed at the end of the first half the only concern for the manager was that we needed to  convert our possession into goals. Having hit the post and crossbar in the first half it was hoped that heads would not drop and they didn't. This was really the best football of the season but unfortunately we fell away to  concede  poor goals in the second period of the final half which really gave a misleading picture of the game. The oppostion changed keeper at half time to put the goalkeeper back in his position and in the number 1 kit to remind him of his IQ,but ultimately the attack  failed to convert our chances. The game could have gone either way for 70 minutes but positional  naivety and in some cases match fitness ultimately counted too heavily against us. However the standard and way of playing  football we are trying to achieve is gradually happening and it will not be long before we 'surprise' one of the 'big teams'. We are learning quickly.
